MOOVY @CAMPUS

EXCHANGE WITH UNIVERSITIES
PROMOTION OF DANCE, FILM AND TECHNOLOGY
Moovy is actively involved in exchanges with universities in Germany and abroad and promotes interdisciplinary projects at the interface of dance, film and technology.
With the Digital Narratives master’s program at the ifs – International Film School Cologne, Moovy explores the artistic possibilities of dance and artificial intelligence. Under the direction of Maren Demant and Amritha Warrier, students develop project ideas that address real-life challenges at the interface of choreography, technology and storytelling. Ágota Harmati, artistic director of the Moovy dance film festival, gave a lecture at the ifs to kick off the program.
At Witten/Herdecke University, the Chair of Digital Arts and Cultural Mediation, headed by Prof. Dr. Renate Buschmann, is researching new approaches to teaching choreography in virtual and augmented realities.
In cooperation with the Center for Contemporary Dance (ZZT), the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM) and the Kibbutzim College of Education, Technology and the Arts in Tel Aviv, students are working under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Yvonne Hardt, Dr. Einav Katan-Schmid and Jung Saeyun on the joint development of a dance film, which is to be presented as part of Moovy.
COLOGNE DANCES TIK TOK

DANCE IN URBAN SPACE
YOUTH CULTURE MEETS ESTABLISHED ART
The “Köln tanzt TikTok” project brings dance art into public space: at various locations in the city, passers-by can use QR codes to access dance videos on the popular TikTok platform that have been developed by Cologne choreographers. The short videos combine elements of youth culture with professional dance art and create new approaches away from classical stages. The aim is to make dance more visible, promote participation and involve young people as equal actors in the cultural dialog. The project is deliberately designed to be low-threshold and invites people to discover dance spontaneously, regardless of location and digitally.

WHEELCHAIR DANCE WITH VR GLASSES

WHEELCHAIR DANCE WITH VR GLASSES
DIGITAL PARTICIPATION THROUGH DANCE AND TECHNOLOGY
As part of Moovy NRW, 360° dance films are being made accessible specifically for people with physical disabilities – especially wheelchair users. The project enables new, barrier-free access to art and movement through the use of virtual and augmented reality.
In accompanying workshops, participants acquire digital skills, try out creative forms of movement and explore innovative forms of artistic expression – from 360° dance films to AR-supported choreographies. The aim is to promote digital participation, boost participants’ self-confidence and support social participation.
A supplementary module in the Monheim library also teaches the safe and reflective use of VR technology in everyday life.

The Centre for Contemporary Dance (Zentrum für Zeitgenössischen Tanz, ZZT) is hosting and organising this year’s annual conference of the gtf. The symposium is planned and organised by Prof. Dr. Yvonne Hardt, Marisa Berg, Anna Chwialkowska and Ulrike Nestler from ZZT.
