Moovy is the Dance Film Festival of Cologne. It takes place at the Film Forum in Museum Ludwig in Cologne.
Dance films are of much more than contemporary dance on film. Dance films are an intermediate mix of dance and film, the choreography of which includes both the dancers and the camera. The synthesis of dance and moving image creates videos and films that would not be possible on the real stage in their temporal and spatial structure. In addition, editing techniques, animation and electronic image processing provoques that not only the dancer moves in the filmic environment. Exteriors, daily interior locations but also fictional worlds are also set into motion.
