Dance fosters community: on stage, in front of the stage and in between. Entirely new forms of togetherness are emerging through digital forms of dance, theatre and visual art. How do we experience and shape these communities? Are we keen to encounter one another in unusual ways? We could get to know others before putting on a VR headset. Would we then meet them in virtual space with an altered bodily experience? Afterwards, we could discuss the shared experience. What diverse forms of encounter within and through digital art are being explored today, and which are being imagined for the future? What role do the wishes and ideas of the audience, the artists and the cultural practitioners play?

At this year’s Moovy Symposium, we invite you to join us in spinning tales. Drawing on concrete examples and contemporary ideas, we aim to imagine places and moments for novel forms of artistic experience and exchange. Short presentations will spark discussion. Possible questions:

What will future venues for engaging with digital art look like, and who will meet whom there? What forms and types of digital art can be experienced there – and how? Where do we see opportunities and risks in current technological developments? How about spaces where digital art is created collaboratively – where, for example, the thoughts and stories of those involved play a role, and where the work is constantly evolving? Or would we prefer spaces that are stable, provide a sense of direction, and where we can meet repeatedly and grow together?

In short: how do we want to engage with digital art in the future?

Everyone is invited to contribute their ideas, have their say and help shape the event! Let’s find some initial answers together.

With the Symposium & Future Jam, we are offering two days of an inspiring space for exchange and networking – with the aim of providing concrete impetus for the future of culture and digitalisation.
