Moovy builds bridges – between dance, film and technology, and between established artists and emerging talents. The focus is on exchange between choreographers, dancers and media artists – facilitated and inspired by the festival programme as well as by accompanying projects and collaborations.

Moovy operates on a supra-regional and international scale: with its curated programmes, the festival is regularly represented on renowned stages, platforms and at partner institutions – in Germany and beyond.

There is a particular focus on interdisciplinary research and teaching. In collaboration with higher education institutions such as the International Film School Cologne (ifs), Witten/Herdecke University, the Centre for Contemporary Dance (ZZT) at the Cologne University of Music and Dance, and the Cologne Academy of Media Arts (KHM), innovative projects are developed at the intersection of choreography, technology, AI and storytelling. Another integral part of the programme is the annual symposium on dance and digitality, complemented by a varied education programme featuring workshops and outreach activities for schools and young dance enthusiasts.
